Myofascial release can feel and look similar to massage. It is used as an adjunct to our treatments as opposed to a stand alone session. It helps to reduce pain, restore normal movement and increase blood flow to the injured area, which is necessary for healing.

Here in Sampson Physiotherapy we use this technique in combination with dry needling, mobilisations (manual therapy) and prescriptive exercise including Pilates based exercise and strength and conditioning exercise.

We find this a very effective treatment combination and have helped to ease pain for the majority of our patients.

Hands on mobilisation techniques to the spine and peripheral joints are a very effective treatment to help resolve sciatica, ease pain from arthritic joints and restore normal movement from joints that have become sore and inflamed after a fracture (broken bone) or following surgery such as a knee replacement.
